Migrating from WooCommerce to Shopify is a significant decision for your business, and when you’re ready, we want the transition to be as smooth as possible.
It’s worth noting that migration is included for free with all Shopify plans, including trial versions.

Migrating from WordPress to Shopify

Before proceeding with the migration, it’s important to have everything prepared. You should follow these steps to carry out the export of your WooCommerce data.

Once this process is completed, you will download a file with an XML extension. This document will contain all the information from your WooCommerce store and will be ready for import into Shopify.

  • In your Shopify control panel, click on Apps > Store Importer.
  • Select WooCommerce from the dropdown menu on the Import your data into Shopify page.
  • Under Upload files, click on Add file and select the exported files. You can select any number of CSV files. When importing products, you should add the exported files for both the default edit and bulk edit templates to ensure that the data is imported correctly.
  • Select the WooCommerce XML file you downloaded.
  • In your Shopify control panel, click on Apps > Store Importer.

Importing WooCommerce Products to Shopify

From Shopify, it is also possible to import only WooCommerce products. It is important to highlight that the export of your products must be carried out in an organized manner. In other words, all the products you want to export must have: Category, SKU, and Title.

To carry out the export, you should follow these steps:

1. You should go to your WooCommerce product page and click on Export.

2. A new tab will open where you will find a simple form with three fields to fill out. This is simply for WooCommerce to know what we want to export.

You should indicate the following:

  • The columns you want to export.
  • The types of products.
  • The category of the products.

The last step would be to simply fill in the fields with the information you want to export and click on “Generate CSV.
